Gerakan may quit Barisan

The Sunday Star September 7, 2008

KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan will leave Barisan Nasional if it cannot play a "meaningful role" within the coalition, said acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon. [Advice : Since when did the BN say Gerakan did a good job administrating Penang and not to be a follower to UMNO whim and fancy?]

The party is now reviewing its role in Barisan, he said, just a day after he had declared Gerakan had no intention of quitting the coalition. [Advice : Just quit and stop being a lackey in BN coalition. Keng Yaik said it right before.]

But that declaration had been tempered with the caution that Barisan must change to cope with the political reality and move away from race-based politics.

“Look at our symbol. The dacing (scales) stand for equality and fairness. We must go back to our original spirit,” he had said. [Advice : Since when did the BN dacing balanced?]

Dr Koh had also earlier warned that Barisan may reach a “point of no return” if racist remarks and anti-social behaviour continued to tarnish its image, implicitly referring to Umno Bukit Bendera division chairman Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s alleged racist statements. [Advice : What are you waiting for Mr Koh when that Ahmad and Abdullah had said they are not racist? Instead the press had misquoted them!]

Ahmad was reported to have described Malaysian-Chinese as immigrants and squatters. He has denied the reports, saying journalists had quoted him out of context. [Advice : Does Ahmad realised that God did not "drop" Malays on this peninsula ahead of the Orang Asli! Go back into your history please. Shame on you both unless Ahmad says he is a descendant of Orang Asli and not from Sumatera, Acheh, Java etc. i.e. we are all pendatangs to the Orang Asli on this peninsula.]

He has also refused to apologise for the alleged remarks, citing support from the 13 Umno divisions in Penang, and demanded that Dr Koh and Chinese community leaders apologise to him for asking him to express regret. [Advice : Why should Dr Koh and Chinese community apologise for the immaturity and professionalism of a "leader" who indulge in such public speeches. It's a shame to Malaysia! It's also indirectly a call by these 2 fellas for all "pendatang" to kow-tow to these UMNO idiots!]

Ahmad also said that he was sure MCA would garner unanimous support from the Chinese if Gerakan broke away from Barisan, which saw Dr Koh accusing him of "trying to drive a wedge" between Gerakan and MCA. [Advice : Mr Koh, just do it! (like Nike says). Does MCA have a choice to support those 2 fools? MCA would also end up as nother lackey in BN if they kow-tow to these racist UMNO leaders. Anyway Chinese makes up only 30% and what these fools don't understand is that without Gerakan and MCA, then all the Chinese votes would be lost from BN and left PKR and PAS to secure the additional 30-40% Malay votes. Simple equation which that Ahmad fool do not understand.]
