STOP All This Monkey Tricks!

Even monkeys know how to say stop the "Bolehland" nonsense (..or rather monkey business) but some people with authority don't! It takes a bigger monkey not to listen....hehehe.
Beginning of the fall?

Mat Rempit + Road Safety = Public Health Hazard

Road Safety on the Malaysian road today is synonymous to Mat Rempit(s) (Mat Rempit had rode themselves into Wikipedia) and you can't help coming across one of them showing off their stunt on the roads. Dangerous it is but fearless it is to these bunch of road menace and worst off they are causing danger on public roads as well in housing estates. How serious can this "culture" be in years to come?

Firstly, motorcycle and now scooters have become a convenient mode of transport even for schoolchildren to school. More shocking is you will see these schoolchildren riding without helmets and zooming on the streets as well as to school. Soon they start learning Mat Rempit lingos;

Wheelie : standing motorcycle on rear wheel while front wheel on the air
Superman : Laying on the bike with both hand still hold the handle.
Baring : Laying on the bike where the leg is touching the handle, the inverse way of Superman.
Skating : Standing on the motorcycle with a leg on the handle bar and the other on the seat.
Cilok : Weaving left and right between cars at high speeds.
Wikang : The name wikang is actually a contraction of wheelie belakang in
Korner :Rounding a turn with enough lean to bring the side of the motorcycle in contact with the ground.
Pacak : Literally means standing idle like a stick in
Malay, the pacak technique is the technique of lifting
the motorcycle 90-degrees vertical with the front wheel raised. The pacak technique is almost as
same as the wheelie, but is performed when the motorcycle is stationary with the rider standing.

(a) What are the parents and teachers doing about this?
(b) Are the authorities going to act on this before it gets too late?
(c) Who is to blame if something untoward happens?
(d) Is Putera UMNO to set up clubs for Mat Rempit?

It starts with when parents sending their children to school nearby without helmets and as the child grows, it becomes a habit and eventually a norm to zip around on their motorbike/scooter without helmets. As they get "too" familiar with the machine, they start modifying and starts comparing with their peers before it soon gets into a competitive feel which slowly gets onto the roads.

In kampungs today, you will see many young children modifying their bicycles and doing wheelie. Is this the start of the future Mat Rempits?

Malaysian Government through ruling political party have also turned Mat Rempits into law enforcers against snatch thieves by Chairman of Putera UMNO, Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim ("head of Mat Rempit?") by offering RM50. How ridiculuos can one be? Better to convert these Mat Rempits into volunteer police constables to overcome manpower shortage in the police force as they would have no fear performing "korner", "cilok" on roads or at the narrowest lanes.

Would the authorities position their officers in housing estate with nearby secondary schools and book these public health threat? Good example would be in the Taman Sxxxxxxxxxa where the Federal Territory Minister lives as you see students without helmets (some with pillion rider) and hear noisy exhaust pipes. Better off, you can also look at "tudung" girls riding scooters at quite a decent speed without helmets and the guys would be trailing behind.

So please let's have a safer road we can travel on and reduce the losses from motor accidents which will cause misery to people involved. We want road safety for all.

Blow it gently.....

Ever had a situation where you had this nose block with breathing difficulty arising and the need to blow your nose? Well, don't blow too hard but do it gently.

This is what I got after blowing my nose too hard from the annoying nose block and got the shock of my life when I saw blood in my eyes. It is not life threatening but bad enough to ground you and avoiding unnnecessary attention in public.

Courting Danger with KL Public Buses

Mini bus which used to ply KL city

I am sure all Klang Valley folks would agree that after the Government decided to end the era of mini buses which used to terrorise the city streets, public would have a safer ride on roads. It's the drivers and not the buses are causing the danger.

Present moment, everyone would not debate whether Metro Bus Nationwide a convenience or disturbance and the picture below describes the awareness of public safety by these company bus drivers. Can anyone imagine had the un-lock cover swing open and strike someone or another vehicle along the street.

1. Will the authorities act fast to ensure the safety of the public?

2. Will the enforcement officers not "close one eye" when such instances occurs in front of their eyes?

3. Will the bus companies ensure the safety of public at large and not only on profit?

4. Will the authorities take action on those buses with tinted glass before another untoward incident happens again?

5. Will the authorities ever listen to the public at large?

6. Is this how a country of first class infrastructure public transport suppose to be?

Many questions on our public transport remained unanswered or just swept away.
Just compare our Metrobus with London Metrobus

Recognise which is the Malaysian version?

Tranning or Training?

Bloopers are everywhere and more significantly embarrassing when obvious spelling errors in public displays of which foreigners are accessible.

This boo-boo was spotted recently in the Maritime Navy Museum in Melaka by a 12 year old!

Not known if this has ben rectified which I doubt as I was told, it was a huge display board or least they could do is to paste a picture of the new Scorpene submarines .

Music Unites People - So Can Bloggers Unite

Feeling Sentimental with Isabella.

This is a song which I grew up listening and had been listening over and over again without any feeling of boredom. Thanks to Search, one of the longest playing and prominent Malay rock band in Malaysia.

Isabella had been a hit with young and old which have been carried into KTVs to be sung by all walks of life. Talking about music uniting the races? So who has been causing rifts and discontentment among races? Politicians? Government?

It's worthless talking about people whom are out there for their own well being and their favorite opening word is all about "I" and "MY". Never about "we" or "us". Even the latter, we still have leaders who says "Walk With Me and Not Behind Me" but conspicously missing in times of needs. Just be alert and not fall asleep when you walk with them!

Anyway enjoy Isabella. At least Malaysians generally still unite and love this song.

Life Is A Risk?

Many people talk about risking their lives doing this and that, but little do they realise that risk is in existence even when you are sleeping!

They also complain relentlessly over their pay, colleagues, workload, public transport, services and almost everything with greater interest of how they wish they could make that extra income. Going into business "may be" what they would like to get into but they allow their business creativity (if they have) bounded by their so-called principles of life.

After all, they have live with their principles of life for as long as they have been in existence in this world without progress and yet stick to principles of complaining about how unfair the world, boss, environment, Government and etc. had been on him/her.

So why talk about life risks and life principles? Not too sure if these people knows what they are talking about!

Get a life!

Life Journey

Life is empty neither it was meant to provide agony, poverty and ill-feelings!

It is always the journey in our path of life which we embark upon that decides on the outcome. The meaning of life in simple truth is living the way you want to be and being a temporary occupant of this planet called Earth does not provide us the absolute right to be a snob or the right to cause harm to people around you.

It is always the question of greed which drives humans around the world to create the advent of war, hunger, corruption, catastrophe, killings and etc. One thing leads to another. Why has all this to happen? A single word called GREED!

Let's have peace, harmony and appreciate the gift that God had given all of us regardless of religion, color and ideology. Let's give our future generation a chance to enjoy God's gift on Earth. Don't you think they deserve a chance?

God Blessed!
