Under Whose Instructions To Block?

Malaysia Today (www.malaysia-today.net) was blocked on instructions based on section 263(2) of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998by MCMC approximately 6pm as the Permatang Pauh by-election results (unofficial) were expected to be posted.

Perhaps the blocking came as a conincidence of the vent going on up north or it could possibly be a perfect platform for Malaysians nationwide to receive early news to party as it's effectiveness was proven during the 12th GE Tsunami.

Under the MSC Malaysia 10-Point Bill of Guarantees, it is stated that as part of its commitment to ensuring the success of MSC Status companies, the Government promised to “ensure no Internet censorship”.

So under whose instruction was that acted upon?

Remains a question left to be answered and had left red faces among the Government leaders whom had one after another came out to disassociate themselves from the issue.

Deputy Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum said he was not aware of SKMM’s directive to the ISPs.

Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, when asked to comment, said, “I am aware of the issue but it is not under my jurisdiction.”

The Government did not instruct the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) to block access to the Malaysia Today website said Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor. The Government had only given a “general instruction” to the commission to allow all blogs and websites to function provided they adhered to provisions under the Communications and Multimedia Act.

“Everyone is subject to the law, even websites and blogs,” said Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.

MCMC chief operating officer, Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi confirms the order but declined to elaborate.

The blocking had also drawn flak from Che Det, Lim Kit Siang and KJ "In Defence Of Those Who Despise Me" (perhaps to claim some mileage).

Wonder why the PM and his deputy Badawi had remained silent on this issue?

So who actually ordered the blocking. Whoever ordered the blocking must have found RPK & Malaysia Today just too hot to handle with stunning revelations one after another.

RPK had by then declared that Malaysia-Today is dead but the son of Malaysia-Today, www.mt.harapanmalaysia.com has taken over. Such was his motivation and enthusiasism not to be outdone by UMNO led BN, he is going for broke for Malaysians and he has the support from rakyat.

Original UMNO is dead, Malaysia-Today is dead and could BN be dead soon?

It remains as a grim reminder and reinforce the belief that the present Malaysian Government had actually lost control and has no coordination!

Whatever it is, borrowed this line from RPK yeh, yeh, kita menang!

Malacca plans a grand Merdeka Day celebration

2008/08/29
Malacca plans a grand Merdeka Day celebration
Mohamad Bakri Darus, BERNAMA

This Sunday's Merdeka Day celebration bears much significance for Melaka after the state earned the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO) recognition as a world heritage site.

Melakas glorious years began in the era of the Malay Sultanate right until when it became a pawn in the struggle between the colonial powers that sought fame and fortune in the Far East.

Hence, Melakas illustrious history had left numerous heritage and cultural landmarks that proved to be the main draws for tourists.

This land of the legendary Malay warrior Hang Tuah received the Unesco“World Heritage Site recognition last July 7.

This significant acknowledgement is on 214.6 hectares of area, covering two urban conservation sections split by the Melaka River.

The first area includes the St Paul Hill and its surroundings comprising several government buildings, museum, church and what is left of the 16th century Portuguese and Dutch forts as well as the Bukit Cina.

The second area covers the historic stretch of residential and commercial areas comprising some 600 shop houses, mausoleum, houses and other premises.

MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION

With the arrival of this long-awaited recognition, Melaka is holding a month-long grand celebration themed “Warisan Hidup Sepanjang Zaman” (heritage of era-long existence).

The Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Khalil Yaakob officiated the celebrations launch held last Aug 1.

“This recognition is a major achievement for the country and Melaka in particular,” said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, adding that it was an honour for the state as it has been striving towards conserving its more than 500 years of heritage.

After receiving the World Heritage City honour, Melaka is expected to receive a deluge of local and foreign tourists.

The chief minister said Melaka ensures that its centuries-old heritage is preserved by maintaining the historic monuments and other structures.

“Melaka still retains the culture of various races, said to be the living heritage where the society maintains the traditions like the wear, dishes, customs, handicraft, marriage ceremonies and others,” he said.

MELAKA TREE

The Sumatran prince Parameswara discovered this state in 1396 and named it Melaka after a tree which is known as the pokok Melaka.

Later Melaka came to be known as the Venice of the East after it developed into an important port for merchants and their various trades.

This is when the various foreign cultures and customs arrived at this city port, brought along by merchants from countries like that in West Asia, Europe and Far East.

Hence, uniquely-designed buildings that reflect these various customs and cultures began to sprout in this city port.

INVASION OF THE SEA FARERS

Malaysias struggle for independence that culminated with the declaration of Merdeka on Aug 31, 1957 had begun after Melaka fell to the Portuguese invaders in 1511.

Over a century later in 1641 after a series of attacks, the Dutch invaders overpowered the Portuguese and took over Melaka.

Melaka then became a colony of the Prince of Oranges country (Holland) until 1824 when Holland and Britain signed a treaty that paved the way for the British to take over the Malay states.

The British rule came to a halt after Malaya fell to Japan on Feb 15 in 1942. However the British colonial government returned on September 1945 after the surrender of Japan, and the end of World War Two.

Despite taking control of the port for 130 years, the Portuguese mercenaries were not able to expand their authority beyond that as there were continuous attempts by the Malays to retake Melaka.

During the Dutch rule, forces led by Raja Haji and Sultan Ibrahim tormented the Dutch defenders but they managed to thwart the onslaughts.

Hence Melaka remained under Dutch rule for 180 years.

Meanwhile, the struggle for independence from the British colonialists had produced a long list of warrior heroes like Dol Said in Naning (negeri Sembilan), Datuk Maharajalela in Perak, Datuk Bahaman, Tok Gajah and Mat Kilau (Pahang), Sharif Masahor, Rentap and Asun (Sarawak), Mat Salleh and Antanum in Sabah, Tok Janggut in Kelantan, Abdul Rahman Limbong in Terengganu and many others.

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

Malaysias first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Alhaj picked Melaka as the place where he made the announcement that the country was going to achieve independence, on Feb 20, 1956 at the Bandar Hilir field here.

The announcement came after the Merdeka entourage led by Tunku Abdul Rahman returned from London after signing the agreement for independence with the British government on Feb 11, 1956.

The entourage that also comprised the nations other stalwarts like Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, Tun H.S.Lee, T.H.Tan and Abdul Kadir Shamsudin boarded the Mv Asia at Singapores Tanjung Pagar Port bound for London on Jan 1, 1956.

Negotiations with Britain were held for three weeks, from Jan 18 until Feb 8, 1956.

Tunku Abdul Rahmans entourage left for home on Feb 16 and reached Singapore on the midnight of Feb 19, 1956.

The very next day, they left for Melaka where a grand welcome awaited them at the Batu Berendam Airport before the group proceeded to Padang Pahlawan in Bandar Hilir where some 100,000 came to witness the historic moment.

The decision to announce the date of the countrys independence was made at an Umno emergency meeting held in Kuala Kangsar on Jan 13, 1956.

Happy 51st birthday Malaysia.

Protocols?

Is waving of Malaysia flags by schoolchildren during a motorcade pass-by by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong against the protocol?

But required waving of the flags when the Prime Minister passes by is an absolute OK!

Let's watch closely during the coming 51st Merdeka Day celebrations at Merdeka Square if the thousands of on field performers adhere to protocols mentioned above!

Then Malaysians decide ........ and have the answers!

Nazri Aziz blown by Tsunami?

"I admit there are things such as Tsunamis or Titanic in politics, and that's why your seat has been blown to that side," Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, added to laughter from the Barisan backbenchers.

"Tsunami" in the House ~ The Star Thursday 28 August 2008

Nazri Aziz may talk as he likes and act as a typical snob of UMNO and there will be a day where he will "blown" as well to be irrelevant to Malaysians which he is now actually. It's just a sign of jealously and fear.

Damned! Must be that fella who was himself confused over the non-existence protection to whistle blower provision during "Correct, Correct, Correct" inquiry ..... yet he was the former Law Minister till demoted to present position and was replaced by a more qualified lawyer in the present Cabinet.

Woit! Malu lah! Don't ferget UMNO (internal) Tsunami will or rather is happening too.

Frankly, such remarks were uncalled for in a civilized society and normally, a sign of desperation that a person resorts to such actions. These are the representatives from BN/UMNO with such no pride and egoistic passing remarks.

The actuality of Anwarism and future Malaysia

"We have a clear and consistent agenda," Anwar once said.

"You can see for yourself. Wherever I speak, people who hear me understand who I am, what I plan to do… They put their trust in me."

The Sun 28 August 2008

That's how Malaysians look at our leaders today and never a second thought about it!
UMNO led BN Government can say and act upon anything but they failed to realise that it is the people of Malaysia whom had placed them in that position to lead the country. People of Malaysia of have no confidence and faith in the BN Government leadership anymore.
It is a fact and BN have to face the actuality of time progression have change the mindset of Malaysians to savour growth, development and lifestyle of the country.
Instead they had blatantly tried to create a racial divide and further endorse the pre-Independence British style of ruling i.e. divide and rule. UMNO kept with the principle till today which is not relevant anymore and makes the party irrelevant to Malaysians as well. They had for 50 years enjoyed the luxury of benefits and privileges of a "cleared passage" to reap the economic benefits for their personal gains while maintaining a race based BN coalition.
BN kept ploughing and till the UMNO leaders got little "big headed" to demand and claim more of the economic share in a exertive manner. This had threatened the racial unity in Malaysia which we have learned to live and love our common existence in this country in the spirit of Lee Chong Wei and Misbun Sidek to secure Malaysia's only medal in the recent Beijing Olympics.
51 years ahead, the people of Malaysia have matured in wanting to see progress, enjoy the benefits of the country's development and be proud to declare "WE ARE MALAYSIANS!" regardless of ethnic background. It must be a base that we keep building for many more future generations to come and be proud off, but it was not to be for the last 4 years.
Malaysians have slogged real hard to live united under one roof for our country called Malaysia and will continue to strive to remain a united Malaysians. The festive spirit where friends could spend hours at each other home/kopitiam for chats and dine together discounting the race are gone today. Sad but true. Instead of revisiting the "why" to such divide, they kept on harping till March 8, when Malaysians of all races enough is enough.
Individuals, parties and organizations (with or without political affiliations) who still champions racism in Malaysia can take a hike! YOU are not wanted here in this land we love called Malaysia and proud to be bangsa Malaysia!
Happy 51st Merdeka rakyat Malaysia!

Post Permatang Pauh By-Election

What violence? It's only tense, but not as violent as expected.

Syed Hamid and Rafidah should be taken to task for inciting fear among the people of Malaysia and especially Permatang Pauh with their earlier comments in the run-up to the by-elections.

It was very clear as to whom the winner would be on the eve of 26 August, when Ramlan Porigi, Imam in the controversial "Say-Fool" sodomy swearing incident appeared at Pakatan Rakyat (PR)'s ceramah to clarify his position. That had swayed the many fence sitters and doubters which had sent the BN folks running helter-skelter for cover as they had their "backside" wide open.

RPK on fire during a ceramah saying;

“The Constitution guarantees us the right of speech and expression”.

No concerns of a lack of a permit was going to stop this anak Bangsa Malaysia tonight.

“Is this the government that we now have after we got rid of the British? If so, I would rather have the British back”.

"This is the people's victory," Anwar said in a victory speech.

Judging from the numerous complaints during the campaign priod lodged with SPR (Elections Commissions) and Mafrel, it clearly shows BN won hands down and among the complaints were using Government property (buildings, vehicles, Ministry staff and funds) to win votes. One ever wonders if this is what a true and fair election all about and if SPR would take action against such abuse in the court of law. SPR is suppose to be an independent body and not take sides to be reminded.

Permatang Pauh results show healthy democratic practice, says Najib. The direction of BN/UMNO is blurry under the present bunch of circus ringmasters and could be even worse for the rakyat and country should these disgusting acts in public by Pemuda/Youth and Puteri were to be the benchmark. Malaysians do not endorse such culture!

Kudos to Barisan Rakyat Bloggers whom had been working tirelessly in providing constant source of information when the normal source of information like Malaysia Today or Malaysia Kini had been blocked (on purpose) or "overwhelmed with visitors".

The final message to the present Government is absolutely clear that they are not wanted and sentiments from Permatang Pauh truly reflects that the rakyat are not easily bought by all the election gula-gula (goodies) from BN and not even the 15sen fuel price reduction. Winds of change had been blowing strong and its velocity had not slight off while expected to pick up till Kuburkan BN!

Be Prepared!

"BE PREPARED (BP)" the Scout Motto as Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouts movement explains;

BP which means you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your DUTY.

Be Prepared in Mind by having disciplined yourself to be obedient to every order, and also by having thought out beforehand any accident or situation that might occur, so that you know the right thing to do at the right moment, and are willing to do it.

Be Prepared in Body by making yourself strong and active and able to do the right thing at the right moment, and do it.

"To do the right thing at the right moment" can be extreme:

"Where a man has gone so far as to attempt suicide, a Scout should know what to do with him."

"BE PREPARED to die for your country if need be, so that when the moment arrives you may charge home with confidence, not caring whether you are going to be killed or not"

Heard from the jamboree crowd, it was a shame that the Third Scouts International Peace Jamboree in melaka recently was turned into a Malaysian political platform going by the speech of the Government leaders officiating the recent event in Melaka calling for support for Barisan Nasional in Permatang Pauh.

The honorary president of the Malaysian Scouts Federation certainly wasn't prepared when someone from the crowd shouted "Hidup Anwar!" referring to the support of the de-facto Opposition Leader of Pakatan Rakyat. Honorary President was caught pants down!

That surprise call had left red faces all around the event and a lesson to the Government leaders not to politicise such events! It's a wake up call to BN leaders that they are no longer able to seat comfortably and rake it the benefits in their pesonal capacity.

Circus Acts of BN led UMNO

Imam, Ramlan Porigi, in the centre of the Anwar Sodomy II case says "Don’t blame me" at a ceramah (election rally) last night. This is an individual who is fearful of God and had declared that;

(a) his presence during the swearing was based on instruction from "the top",
(b) there was a mistake in the swearing,
(c) a prepared text,
(d) the swearing was not done based on Islamic principles requiring both parties to be present and
(e) it's not easy to get into the Wilayah Persekutan mosque unless with approval from "the top".

Who is the "Mat Top" he was referring to who could get the swearing arrangement easily?

At which party's ceramah did he actually spoke briefly?

It was at PR's ceramah! Not BN's! ~ Video and report.

Judging from the events in Permatang Pauh, it is clear that BN/UMNO is not welcomed there "twisted" and "spinned" to true BN Government fashion of death threats and order to get out of town, violence, voters threatened, intimmidating SMSes and roadblocks to a democratic by-elections. May we asked, who is now creating the tensed situation and confusion in the front page MSM medias which is responsible for any untoward incident?

Given the heat created from the by-election, it's a surprise as to why public holiday for by-election causes a stir and would make it simpler for Permatang Pauh voters working in and around Penang to vote. Judging from the BN claims above, it is only wise to clear up the day for folks in that constituency to participate in Battle Royale.

What actions have been taken against these then:
(a) 949 listed names missing
(b) violence against YB's car and
(b) and every single report to Mafrel reported here?

Meanwhile, Najib challenges Anwar to come clean the Islamic way which Islamic scholars had advised Anwar against swearing to God the UMNO/BN way to declare truth and honesty. Anwar refuses to swear on Quran, will leave it to court.

Is swearing the culture of BN politics now like Saiful, Najib and Tajol?

Are they following the true principles of Islam or Islam Hadhari says it's OK to swear? But what about the Statutory Declaration (SD) that Najib practices Hindu rites here?

One thing for sure, legal documents such as SD by PI Bala, are admissible in the court of law and not swearing! It is much hope that JAWI will conduct their investigations on the sodomy saga to their best ability and honesty to reveal the truth the "motive" as well as ending what widely believed is a "circus act" of the Government.

However, two events worth every attention over the weekend is Tunku Abdul Aziz, former Vice Chairman of Transparency International, joining DAP in the party's latest effort to create a multi-racial party. The other being RPK's house being "raided" by "treasure hunters" for the fith time.

And finally, Melaka State Government does a copycat act though we Malaysians salute the achievement of true Malaysians in Lee Chong Wei and Misbun Sidek at the just ended Beijing Olympics. Where other State Rulers may not agree easily to the BN Government, Melaka State Government with full support for PM, was an easier avenue?

What's with "Cabinet BABI"?

Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department and of Information respectively, also denied any involvement. Nazri called the the supposed lineup as "Cabinet BABI — Barisan Anwar bin Ibrahim”.

Malaysians, this is the type of Minister Malaysia have today to lead the country and a total embarassment to the nation! Does he need to really score points and hit under the belt?

This is a typical leader representing a UMNO with a racist and selfish mentality! Period!

We can understand Nazri's predicament should PR (specifically Anwar) comes into power and he would not be able to enjoy the luxury and benefits of being a Minister.

p/s It takes a bigger "BABI" to identify and/or call another!

4 years to discover public transport inconvenience! What was he doing before that????

It's a shame that only after 4 years of holding Premiership had Badawi realised that the public transport are inconvenient to Malaysians patronising the mode of transport daily. There are so many reports, complaints including tabling in Parliament on extending the link but he did not get the thorough picture of why it was urgently required!

Amazing!

Was he simply entertaining Malaysians then when we complained about the public transport inefficient and inconvenience?

The members of public must be caught by surprise meeting the Imam of Islam Hadhari on the morning trains and can't blame if they were thinking "what the *#@&* he is doing on the train?"
Well it's nothing more then a publicity stunt to rectify his popularity and it's just for a couple of months before he dissapears into bewilderness again.

Wasn't this the same situation when he won the 2004 elections when he made a surprise visit to the Immigration Department and commented the same as today. We KL folks will see some changes to the transport system from today.

I would suggest that instead of just taking the train once, Badawi should try taking;
(a) travel on economy flights with members of the public wherever he flies,
(b) take Air Asia for flights later in the day to see it's efficiency,
(c) take public transport for events in KL or Parliament to see if he can make it in time,
(d) leisure days travelling should also be on public buses including express buses to gauge the safety and efficiency.

Mr PM, please don't stop after today's jaunt but continue patronising public transport and Malaysia will benefit much more from this leadership by example;

(a) Malaysians will be "closer" to you,
(b) we are able to experience the rush hours together,
(c) save the Government spending in having special motorcade and escorts,
(d) causing inconvenience to road users and promote safety when your motorcade weaves through the jam,
(e) ability to understand better the feelings of Malaysians and show us that you are not "sleeping",
(f) we Malaysians would like to tell you, "WALK WITH ME!" and
(g) patronize the cake sellers along and around the train stations to contribute back some money into the economy.

How about it? Any possibility?

Puteri UMNO loves the backdoor!

Distasteful UMNO Puteri picture picture taken from http://www.permatangpauh.com/. Look at those cheeky young (not so young I guess) ladies are at main buntut (they could love anal themselves) Oh! yes baby!!!!

Malaysians who place the future of the country in the hands of these Malay (UMNO specifically) Malay women better beware! The promoters of perverts under the "disguise"? No wonder we have heard of "lesbos" within the organization and not too sure if this advertising company called Empire Ad (in Malaysia) had to do anything with it.
They had forgotten that they are victims of sexual harassment by their fellow peers i.e. Pemuda UMNO as reported here. Janganlah diperbesar-besarkan! (Don't worsen the situation)
Malaysian public truly regrets that UMNO Puteri promotes such disgusting acts in public and we condemn the spirit of a true clean and fair Permatang Pauh by-elections.
If that wasn't enough, look at how public properties are being abused byBN elections machinery for their campaign. Isn't Election Commission going to act on this? It's s shame when Pak Lah calls Malaysia a democratic country but remains a hypocrite and promotes shameful acts. Yet they call themselves Trustworthy!

I Swear and it's intepretation

Saiful ready to swear he was sodomised by Anwar: Dad

Saiful to swear on Quran and Imam of Islam Hadhari backs Anwar accuser after mosque 'stunt'.

Meanwhile Muslim Scholars' Association president Datuk Syeikh Abdul Halim Abd Kadir and National Fatwa Council member Perak mufti Datuk Harussani Zakaria says "Saiful's act not necessary". While Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin echoes "Holding Quran While Taking Oath Wrong Belief".

While Saiful’s dad calls on Anwar to swear to clear name and cooperate as not delay probe. Mahathir joined in calls for "dares Anwar to swear".

The question here, should Anwar swear, would Saiful's dad agree that Anwar did not sodomize his son subsequently?

While Anwar had said "Don't make a mockery of Quran", Abdullah Badawi says "Ball in Anwar's court". Muhyiddin Yassin, further questioned "What is Anwar afraid of"?

The swearing controvesy had gained domestic and international thoughts from Islamiic scholars which goes like;
(a) Anwar need not swear on Quran: Penang ulama
(b) Former Indonesian President Gus Dur says "Swearing on Quran 'un-Islamic'"
(c) Nik Aziz, PAS Spiritual Leader says "Swearing on Quran not Islamic practice"
(d) Syarie Lawyers Body Says Saiful Should Give Evidence In Court, Not In Any Public Place

While everyone is caught up with Permatang Pauh by-election and sodomy, BN lawakers are hard at work tabling DNA Bill at first reading which is claimed with eye on Anwar case while Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said "DNA Bill Not Politically Motivated" while we Malaysians had not forgotten the insistence in Parliament when Syed Hamid and Khairy had embarked on a crusade to call for Anwar to provide his DNA during the recent police arrest.

Ahmad Shabery Was Invited By Agenda Daily

Tuesday August 19, 2008

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek's participation in the debate with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently was on the invitation of the organiser.

"The debate's organiser Agenda Daily had invited the information minister. He was not chosen by the Cabinet," Ahmad Shabery said in reply to a question by Amran Ab Ghani (PKR-Tanah Merah) in the Dewan Rakyat here today.

Amran wanted to know whether the information minister was the best government candidate for the debate against Anwar.

The debate on the oil price entitled "Hari Ini Membentuk Kerajaan, Esok Turun Harga Minyak" (Form the Government Today, Reduce Oil Price Tomorrow) was shown live by several television stations on July 15.

Ahmad Shabery said it was better to debate the oil price issue than take to the streets as done by opposition parties.-- BERNAMA

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed that he had more guts then his bosses to stand-up and debate. His performance during the debate was a shame to Malaysian leaders and televised nationwide (perhaps worldwide) which left much to desired of the quality of leaders provided by the BN Government.

Abdullah Badawi and Najib cannot wash their hands from this debacle as they are responsible and accountable for the acts of their subordinates. They have shamed Malaysians by pitching Shabery instead of offering themselves and show the world the leadership quality besides regaining the belief of Malaysians on the Government.

Instead of snapping on the opportunity that beckons upon them, they gave their blessings to a lame representative who is of no match to Anwar Ibrahim and subsequently, sending Shabery into a "sabbatical" and shy away from making statements.

Perhaps Datuk Sharir Abdul Samad would also have been the right person to debate given his position as Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister and responsible for the fuel price hike.

Well that's BN/UMNO political circus!

All's good for Georgetown heritage conservation efforts?

Ministry's To Assist In Heritage Conservation In Melaka And Penang sounds good here for the Federal Governemnt in supporting the conservation efforts.

It does state the following in the above news report as reported in The Star here.

Earlier, Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal told Chow Kon Yeow (DAP - Tanjung) that the Penang state government would not be receiving a special financial allocation from the federal administration for conservation work.

"However, the ministry will continue to provide technical expertise and aid to Penang," he said.

Case of double standards again by the UMNO led BN Government of Malaysia??? Such a shame!

It is also a case of political ideologies and economic well being overcomes the actuality of the roles ad responsibilities of a Minister.

Run Up To Permatang Pauh By-Elections

The racist and disgusting acts that MSM newspaper did not report?

Racist taunts like this by BN, the so-called champion of racial unity! Does the MSM dare to report on this and print this picture in their dailies? Chinese, Indians Told To Give Clear Support for BN but how can you give clear support to BN when UMNO/BN is a racist party? Najib cakap tak serupa buat!

Disgusting acts in public like this which is un-Malaysian like! Does the MSM dare to report and print this acts of orang Melayu from UMNO? Memalukan! Report truthfully and not a lopsided which perhaps is the secret to increasing the circulation numbers again.

And yet they claim to champion racial unity in Malaysia besides it is the PM’s right to come out in the open to criticize the Jabatan Agama Islam raids since he harbors all efforts for Islam Hadhari and wanting “Perpaduan Teras Kejayaan” as the theme for the 51st Independence Day.

Who are the real sexists (within BN)?

Instead of giving Puteri “tips and strategies” on abusive tactics of Opposition, it’s better that they are prepared to face the nation challenges in development, unity and taking the nation beyond now.

They had also casually forgotten that within UMNO lies lurking sexist around them;
(a) that ex-Minister sexually harassing the sales promoter in a 5 star hotel,
(b) the UMNO MP who uttered “bocor” and had embarrassed the women folk worldwide,
(c) MB who ran away with a princess to marry and divorce subsequently,
(d) CM whom had sex with underage and
(e) many other situations of concern including lesbianism and usage of botox.

Ng Yen Yen, Wanita MCA Head quoted here about the existence of sexist in MCA and her views being echoed by former Wanita MIC chief Datin Paduka Jaya Partiban. Federal Territory Umno executive councillor Norlaili Mohamed ruled out the possibility of a woman as party chief citing Islam required a man to lead the party. If Norlaili’s statement were to hold as ultimate, then Malaysian women can forget about leading the country forever!

What should not have been reported and a waste of time:

Everytime when there’s an election, the Government will start bragging about their achievements (not the country) in power. While Badawi wants to complete 5 tasks which he did not managed in 5 years before 2010. What a joke? Was he sleeping during the 5 years in control then?

It’s shocking to hear the PM bragging about the “great” performance of the GLCs while we all know that projects had gone into these companies at will and it would be a surprise had the GLCs where UMNO have majority equity fail badly. These GLCs are perhaps their last frontier for party funds since the fall of the states which had generated much revenue for the Government and its handling is questionable outright.

What the Ministers and Member of Parliaments should adhere to:

Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the former MP for Kota Baru once said, admitting to one's wrongdoings and resigning should be part of the culture of politicians.

A leader is a person who can stand above all this and carry his job of serving the people. Leaders have to be upright and if they get involved in illicit activities they must resign because they are elected to office by the people and are accountable and responsible to their electorate. In the event they don't, the standard of leadership will deteriorate,” he said.

And he himself is being “screwed” by people within UMNO corridors of power (in the run up to the December ’08 UMNO party elections)!

So Near Yet So Far

Every Malaysian was glued to the TV last night to watch Malaysian Beijing Olympics gold medal hopeful compete in the final of the men's singles badminton including the Permatang Pauh by-election candidates.

While the stakes are high for both players, the supporting crowd at the stadium and remote were expecting a keenly contested final between the World ranking number 1 and 2. Based on the run-up to the finals, it is seen that both players were reserving their best for the final.

Once the game gets underway, Malaysians realised that our best bet were in no match for the "super" top form Lin Dan on the night where the player who had more urgency and hunger had stamped his authority on the game.

It was not Chong Wei was not good but on that particular night, we all have to agree that his Chinese competitor was in such a commanding position from the start and enforced his superiority in covering the courts exceptionally well which Chong Wei could not find the areas to exploit.

Many unforced errors by Chong Wei added to the misery and the straight games defeat does not reflect the truth about how the game would have actually turned out to be. He offered no excuse for the tame showing which reflects his responsibility and maturity. With that, all hopes of gold fade in 39 minutes.

Despite all, Chong Wei remains a Malaysian whom had made the country proud in the badminton arena and recognised as a hero to many Malaysians especially budding badminton players to emulate for a future Malaysian Olympic Gold medal.

I would say congrats Chong Wei .... keep your heads up and fight on! We are proud of you (including his parents). Najib : Chong Wei a national hero .. let's see how he is being rewarded.

Anwar: All races should be given equal opportunities

The Star 18 August 2008

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Students who have the potential to excel in their studies should be given equal opportunities to pursue tertiary education, said PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

All students, regardless of race, should have the chance to “rise to the occasion” and fulfil their potential, he stressed.

Anwar also touched on the suggestion by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim that 10% of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) intake be open to non-Malay and foreign students.

“Khalid was only talking about opening one or two courses to non-bumiputras. But Umno views it as selling off UiTM to the Chinese,” he said at a dinner with Chinese voters in Sungai Lembu near here last night.

He said smart Chinese, Malay and Indian students should be given every opportunity to move up the ladder.

If the Malays are smart, let them rise. The same applies to Chinese and Indians,” he said. “Who benefits from this? Everyone.

“The Government benefits and so does the economy.

But now, we uplift Malays who are not smart. Everyone loses and the share market drops.”

He also said not all Malays were corrupt or thieves, adding that the good ones had the capability to make the country prosper.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a statement of someone with a vision for the country to develop and move forward. We are not suppose to compete with each other regardless of the race and religion instead the world is where we should be placing all our energy to compete.

We find the present Government are too engrossed with building "Ketuanan Melayu" and Islam Hadhari whilst in actual fact the majority of Malays in Malaysia are seeking development, better lifestyle (not adjusted lifestyle as promoted by the PM) and nation growth.

Having a fluent Chinese speaking Datuk Arif Shah as a BN candidate in the Permatang Pauh by-election does not answer the main context of the whole nation but a mere meagre solution to the UMNO Youth call not to field "re-cycle candidates". The rakyat is not going to be swayed by Datuk Arif Shah's Chinese eloquence this time however as being a recycle candidate can be tough.

Malaysia have gone through 50 years of independence and we have a PM who instead of carrying on the 2020 plans , had brought Malaysia into the backwaters and a political turmoil which is unseen before.

Malaysia needs to have the right people for the right job! Not by virtue of their political or social standing which they may be looked upon highly but do not acquire the experience and knowledge to execute the task at hand well. Worst of all, today, we find cronies seating at positions to safeguard their respective bosses besides "screwing" the nation from the country resources for their own benefits.

Whatever PM called it "Money Politics" or "Corrupt Politics", it's a disease which had spread to a point of epidemic in Malaysia but the root of the cause will never be discovered unfortunately.

I borrow a verse from Frank Sinatra's My Way which goes like "And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain" for BN(is this a legal organization) as the September 16 date draws nearer.

Were they thinking they are the police or higher authority enforcers of the God?

How many times did we hear of the high handed futile and errorneous raids carried out by these "Little Napoleons" of Religious Departments? Yet, tax payers money were used to maintain such irresponsible bunch ofenforcers.

The relentless efforts by the Government of Malaysia to promote the virtues of Islam in Malaysia had indirectly created a "gung-ho" feeling among the officers to carry out raids at will simply from a tip-off or suspicions without properly investigating.

It's simply abusive nature of actions and had caused much hardship to the victims of this "failed" raids. Was there an apology made for wrongful intrusion, damages to house fixtures (at times), emotions, phsychological shame and trauma?

We remember cases like;

(a) Raid on Indian Restaurant displaying Hindu dieties like this

(b) A failed raid on a house 2 doors away from the Tok Kadi's house as this

(c) Another recent one "JAIS raids pub, in high handed manner" and JAIS officers raided the pub without the police.

(d) Let's not forget the case involving the elderly English couple in Langkawi whom are already adopting Malaysia as their Second Home.

What is wrong with these people??????

It is time we Malaysians stand up and take serious actions against these bunch of "champions" as in the case of housewife Zuraida Zainul Abdin. Enuff of Jabatan Agama Islam nonsensical and unproductive raids.

High handed raids on the English couple previously and the pub reported in the presence of foreigners is serioulsy an embarassment to the nation and does not augur well for Malaysia Tourism!

Let's not forget the countless raids on hotels and who pays for the damaged room doors???

Is it a lie, ignorance or sleeping on the job?

It had come to a situation that whatever the PM says today, widely, Malaysians would consider it as;
(a) a blatant lie,
(b) playing ignorance (or play stupid) or
(c) he was simply sleeping on the job

Many Malaysians have today given up on listening to Pak Lah’s explanations since it is always either “I am not aware” or “I don’t know” which is typical of a “tidak apa lah” attitude. The survey conducted by Merdeka Centre truly reflects the public perception of Pak Lah which hit a new all time low.

In the latest incident relating to the investigation of an UMNO politician in Sabah, Pak Lah claims “I was not informed of Sabah ACA case”! How could this be?

In fact the whole UMNO is under examination as an UMNO veteran had lodged a report against the 2 UMNO leaders. Even the UMNO organization is not spared with this judgement requiring UMNO to pay MYR218mil.

The DPM had also claimed he did not know of ACA report lodged against him and his boss.

Do you see the similarity in answers by both leaders? It is frightening to have leaders not aware of reports lodged against them while they come out guns blazing in issues affecting Malaysians, oppositions parties and racial. Or perhaps they have too many issues on hand to resolve as many more kept piling up on them.

This ACA investigations going on can only be 2 ways;
(a) the ACA had gone berserk to dig up all the reports they had received OR
(b) these are all play acting as a run-up to the December 2008 UMNO elections and to weed
out all the potential threat to the PM’s position till 2010.

Whatever the outcome, Malaysians are preapred to see both the leaders on their way out and for a new Malaysia after 50 years of independence.

On the 51st year independence, a lower budget celebrations carrying the theme Perpaduan Teras Kejayaan (Unity is the Pillar of Success) had been planned. Yet, Malaysians ended up confused as to the theme which seems a distant between what is being preached and in actuality.

Daily, on-going controversies and politicking do compound onto the sombre mood that all Malaysians are getting into as we approached our 51st year of independence on August 31st.

Note: Not forgetting, should Anwar return as as an MP then (Permatang Pauh by-elections), the celebrations can really be an off-key for the Government.

RM218mil Elections Campaign Paraphernalia

Pay up, Umno told as Umno applies to set aside RM218m judgment hit the headlines in The Star yesterday.

The amount is the highest-ever sum of money that Umno — which is the pillar of ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition — has been ordered to pay by a court of law.

Today Online reports the same story with an added quote as below:

Umno further argued that the campaign materials in question bore the BN's "dacing" (scale) logo, and not the Umno's logo of a "keris" (the traditional Malay dagger).

Malaysiakini said Elegant Advisory executive director Samsudin Ibrahim recently rebutted Mr Abdul Azim's argument that Umno was wrongly cited in the action.

The company contended that "Umno, as the biggest party in BN, has not only used the keris logo during the election but also used the dacing logo widely. BN is not a legal entity but it's a coalition of political parties, with Umno being its biggest party".

This would raise a question on Barisan Nasional (BN) existence as an "organization" and legitimacy in contesting elections. IF BN is not a registered organization, then all the posters and banners placed for projects or campaigns can be construed as misleading Malaysians!

While Guan Eng had said that "Umno exceeded election spending limit".

Well let it be heard in courts and for Malaysians to take note?

Today, I cry for my future generations in Malaysia

Najib says, Bar Council’s persistence caused extreme reaction where Malaysians of different races should respect the sensitivities of each racial group and the basic tenets of the Constitution. While Zahid Hamidi says Disputes can be resolved.

But insults and calls like this is uncalled for where Najib and Zahid Hamidi should openly condemn such if he still stands by his calls for respect on sensitivities of each racial group. It should have been handled in a more civilised manner reflecting our 50 years of independence of a matured, integrated and tolerant society.

There were issues legally at hand for discussion in a forum and never the intention to question the rights of Islam. As we have seen in many newspaper reports there were lots of confusion over the burial rights and conversion after denouncing the Islam faith which needs to be iron out and clarified.

The so called "defenders"failed to understand that for the nation to move forward, the need to resolve such confusion is justifiable or Malaysians would forever live in uncertainty. It is sad that even DPM miscontrued the humble intention of the Bar Council to organise such forum when the Government is not willing to step forward to address such for the fear of losing support from the Malays.

Throwing of molotov cocktails at the house of Sharizat and the findings of 2 bottles in front of the Bar Council building is truly a cowardly act of "terrorism" which is not a culture of Malaysia.

While it can be seen by many that the UMNO likes to strive on racial politics, fellow BN component leader says "Racial politics ‘out of fashion’ which is true enough. Instead of burying these little issues amicably and move forward as a nation in solidarity, we are engaging into another internal conflict which would hamper growth and development. Who had stroke the racial cords initially? Pak Lah? Khairy? Hishamuddin? Hindraf? Islam Hadhari?

All one needs to look is at the sequence of events to realise that the initiator shoud be the one to be held responsible for the such events.

An UMNO friend of mine who belongs to the elder group once said to me " I cherish the moments when I was younger where I could seat in a Chinese kopitiam with my Chinese and Indian brothers having tea but not now, They could eat anything including pork in front of me as long as I don't consume but not now". Why not now?

Indeed a sad day for freedom of opinion and expression in Malaysia!

After 50 years of independence and living under a common roof, there are still people who still believed they are owners of the land.

I cry for the future generations and their ability to carry on living in this country our forefathers had tirelessly established for their future generations to live in togetherness regardless of the race, religion and ideologies.

If there are "silent hands" behind this, he/she is responsible of the country and future generations of Malaysians.

SAD but true of what leaders of this country are promoting today as non-Muslims continue living dangerously.

Where does MCA, MIC and Gerakan stands in this?

But a point for commendation is the actions of the police to uphold calm during the "storm".

Let's all pray that there would be peace and calm after the storm!

Such a shame!

If flying a flag upside down signifying a country in distress is a problem, I would think that having a flag on the pole which is torn and not properly tied would be a bigger disgrace to the country and state.

Especially so when the picture below was taken from a religious school promoting Islam Hadhari and the Government is trying hard to educate the children to love their nation.

Was this an oversight of the Education Ministry or the focus was very much on bigger agendas that simple basic protocols are not being adhered!

Anwar Political Conspiracy, by-election and of UMNO recycled rep

Permatang Pauh By-election: Nomination On Aug 16, Polling On Aug 26 and co-incidentally Anwar to be charged with sodomy and Anwar reiterates that "It won’t derail my election plans". ABdullah sense that his "erection" plans might be derailed and discharges himself quickly by declaring "I didn't order police to charge him" neither I am not involved in sodomy charge. With RPK (Malaysia Today) latest posting about What the IGP and AG don't know ....... yet, it will definitely throw this case into disarray!

"Another person looking for justice is the victim. You seem to forget Saiful. You think Anwar is more important." Badawi said here. Do we sense the slight incline in intonation here?

Notice served on Anwar to present himself in court and I will turn up, says Anwar. Police had said that they will have added presence around the city and no road closures besides don't listen to rumours.

Permatang Pauh 17,000 Umno members told to stop sympathising with Anwar. The UMNO members are still public whom had suffered from the recent price increase of necessity goods, fuel, transport and even poultry eggs had gone up by at least MYR1 for a tray of 30 eggs. UMNO would most likely feed them with added "gula-gula" for this election again to deny an expected landslide victory for the Anwar-PKR camp.

Meanwhile, UMNO veteran lodged a report against top leadership here and ACA will interview both. The outcome can be predicted even before the interview takes place!

Look here at how the DPM claims "I don't know anything about ACA report"

While ACA delves into IT project involving firm with Israeli directors in a integrated software project for the police force and Syed Hamid was quick to claim no breach of national security.

Few pointers here:

(a) Home Ministry awarded the RM980mil project in February 2008. Who was the Home Minister then?
(b) Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police were aware of the involvement of the Israelis in their communications systems upgrading project and informed the Home Ministry.
(c) in March, the company was informed that a local IT company had been appointed as local partner for the project and who are the "actual beneficiary" of this project?
(d) Malaysian Government are supporters of Israelis?
(e) had RPK not brought up this in his blog, would ACA act on this???

Malaysians should take heed that UMNO had been using recycled rep in all elections (and perhaps party positions) and it is clear now that we have not seen progress in the last 4 years except that these "goonies" had recycled the country's resources for their well being which prompted the UMNO Youth to declare "No recycled rep!" If they field Ezam, then he will definitely be another recycled rep! It is expected that BN will have their reycled reps zooming into recycled issues during their campaigning.

Abdullah: We can overcome problems with truth BUT he is not telling the truth! He shouts out loud about Ketuanan Melayu and Islam Hadhari, how can he set an example that others will follow in this multi-racial country where the country's development is the pinnacle of Malaysia.

The UMNO house is burning and such cases would definitely deflect the attention from the much bigger issues faced by Malaysians Malaysia;

(a) incompetent PM and DPM with calls for resignation,
(b) corruptions,
(c) questions surrounding the internationally recognised case of the Altantuya murder,
(d) switching camps by coalition ruling party members,
(e) and the list goes on but will never stop!

Missing drugs from State Police Headquarters

RM1million worth of syabu which forms part of the RM48million drug bust of the year had gone missing from the state Johor Baru (South) police headquarters which was guarded by 60 policemen.

A task force had been set-up to probe into the missing drugs and police had called up several reporters from 3 NST Group dailies for questioning on the newspaper reports here, while the State Police Chief shuns the media.

2 other occassion that drugs in police custody gone missing.

If the police can't secure such in their own building, how would the public expect them to safeguard the safety of all Malaysians in the wake of rising crime?

The State Police Chief and IGP should hold themselves responsible for the loss as this is a breached of security and possibly reflects a weakness in implementation of controls over the evidence.

I recall a story from South Africa where it was so difficult to fight crime when the "baddies" attacked the police station that the police themselves hired security guards to secure the station perimeters. Would this happen in Malaysia?

News Headlines Can Be Deceiving

Lack of typists the reason appeal recorded of Irene Fernandez case not ready; BERNAMA & NST

Computer virus delays Irene Fernandez appeal; The Star

Coverage of the same story by MSM with headlines that delivers the wrong perception if you don't read the contents of the news!

Commitment Between WMD and C4

Abdullah Calls For Commitment To Total Elimination Of Weapons Of Mass Destruction

What about the C4 that killed Altantuya Sharibuu? Put your commitment to get to the truth of this brutal murder involving foreign nationals and bring the person responsible to the courts of justice.

Would suggest Abdullah focus on bringing the truth out to gain his popularity instead of hiding behind his Islam Hadhari cloak. Make the call to end the Altantuya mystery!

And Raja Nazrin Tells Graduates To Be Perceptive Thinkers here! Everything he said is relevant to the UMNO so-called elites.

Another "Little Napoleon" In School

Four days had past and amidst the joy of knowing there were such programs like Karnival Pendidikan Luar Sekolah Menengah Peringkat Kebangsaan exist to develop leadership qualities and personal development, there was a “black mark” in the run up to the 2008 version held in Labuan recently.

The annual Karnival was meant to achieve its objective through various activities such as kayaking, cycling, orienteering, climbing and cultural night. This program is where students which formed crème of the crop from all over Malaysia were selected to attend.

This group of students would possibly have the potential to serve as future leaders of Malaysia due to their excellent academic and co-curriculum activities in school and/or State level. Parents and teachers alike, plays an important in moulding the future generation of Malaysia which requires patience, responsibility, integrity and building the trust with the students. The repercussion from lack of discipline and efforts to guide could proof detrimental in the student’s development.

It came to my knowledge that the Principal of a prestigious school in Melaka, behaved and acted like a “Little Napoleon” taking decisions into his own hands besides challenging the decision of higher authorities in the Ministry of Education (MOE) in the student selection for this event.

It is no wonder that the school which used to produced leaders of this country here had declined so much that other schools including “traditional rivals” St Francis Institution (SFI) and St David’s High School had very much claimed to be on par today.

The student selected from this school was only given the go-ahead from the Principal at the eleventh hour to prepare and make the trip to KLIA for the onward flight to Labuan without the parents being informed.

(a) How does the Principal expect to be respected by parents, students, fellow peers and most importantly lead the school to greater heights?

(b) With such a last minute clearance, it is expected that the student may not even be able to bid farewell to his parents and/or loved ones. Is this culture that the principal wish to breed?

(c) I was informed that in a rush, the student had left his NRIC at home which forces the father to make a 1.5 hours dash to KLIA to deliver. What if something had happened during this rush?

(d) Most importantly, had the student missed this opportunity, the whole school including parents should feel that they had been robbed of having a representative at this national level event.

I guess the most startling information I received was that, there were supposedly 3 candidates representing all major races from this school proposed for the event but only this Chinese student was selected to represent the school. Why had the Principal earnestly wanted to swap with another candidate representing the majority race in Malaysia? What does he wants? A racist or united Malaysia?

Considering this particular student’s achievement academically (straight A’s in PMR) and co-curriculum activities, there is no reason for the Principal to shy away from giving the go-ahead in advance where it meets the objective of a representation of multi racial.

The fact here is, the Principal had just dug his own grave and bury whatever respect the student have upon him. Though this may be the first and if no drastic action is taken, this could be the first of many more to come.

Further probing which I had also found out that the Principal have a weak command of English Language besides I was made to understand that he was previously in the Invigilation Department of the Education Ministry before his present position. This is shocking!

Another crack, shoddy work and waste of public funds = BN Government

"Abdullah unhappy cracks recurred"

RM70+million spent on repairs + cracks still appear = rakyat unhappy

Taxpayers money had gone down the drain due to design flaw and improper anchorage of beams.

What Abdullah had not said was that he should take full responsibility for these shoddy works which could have cause innocent lives of Malaysians plying that road. It is his Government that studied and awarded the repair works which he should bear full responsibility and accountability to step down in ANOTHER debacle of his scandal laden Government.

Oh by the way, who are these contractors Bumihighway (M) Sdn Bhd, Sukmin Sdn Bhd and Konsortium Kontraktor Melayu behind the Design-Build contract for MRR2???? Qualified?

Tan Sri Zaini Omar was the then Director-General of JKR who was in-charged of this project. He had since then retired and is now involved in the UEM-Penang 2nd Bridge Project and the Water Commission. This is scary!

More details and history about the MRR2 cracks can be obtained from here.

Typical "tidak apa" Badawi

PM on his approval rating: Never mind-lah (Tidak apa lah)

He had set an unprecendented all time low popularity for any Malaysian PM with that sort of "tidak apa" attitude and reflected by the "flip-flop" decisions.

With that statement, PM has either;

(a) accepted the fact he is no good or,

(b) just go along with a "I don't care" approach

Along the way, he created many unprecedented firsts as a PM of Malaysia e.g. highest and lowest General Election mandate within 4 years, PM with lowest public confidence, highest fuel hike and many more. An end in sight?

If this is his approach in running the country then all Malaysians (except cronies) are doomed!
