Kampung-nization of Setiawangsa!

District of Setiawangsa and the area, Kuala Lumpur is buzzing these days as a premier suburban. The Jusco AU2 and DUKE highway had elevated the address profile much more these days and located just 15 minutes from KLCC through Jalan Jelatek-Jalan Ampang.

Setiawangsa is also home to many VIPs and elites who chose home amongst the greens and hilly terrain on the fringe of the KL city. Former Federal Territory Minister and Member of Parliament, Datuk Zulhasnan Rafique including host of other corporate figures, army and police officers.
  1. Sadly these days, motorcyclists (some with pillion riders) freely riding their bikes without helmets zooming along the roads on this highly sought residential enclave. I would be bold enough to say that some hardly have licenses and in school uniforms.
  2. On a further note, it is shocking to see even parents riding the motorbikes without helmet with their child as a pillion. Haven't they thought about setting an example about road safety and attitude?
  3. The encounter with "Rempits" is definitely another event not to be missed in Setiawangsa and endangering the life of other road users.
  4. Beating red lights is frequent in these areas.
  5. More idiotic these days happening here is the turning of the traffic lights direction to face opposite directions in perhaps an act to confuse road users. This is an extremely dangerous and wondering if these culprits had "cow dung" in their brains.
Despite the presence of;
  1. high profile personalities in this residential area,
  2. 2 police base i.e. a beat base and pondok komuniti and
  3. army and police personnel quarters/flats within this area,
the senseless acts still happens and growing rampant. The "kampung-nization" is slowly but surely happening here and if the authorities don't act, very quickly the profile of this much sought after residential address would be gone quickly.

Are the authorities not going to enforce the law or simply "buat bodoh"?

Looks like the MP of Setiawangsa after being removed as FT Minister had also gone to focus on his personal business ignoring the issues around his constituency!

Setiawangsa folks will only see his face come General Elections!
