Dad

Wednesday June 6, 2007

Dad's diabetic condition had worsen with uncontrollable urinating. He could not lift his ownself to walk or seat which points that his sugar levels had taken over his able body. Quick thinking mum summoned assistance for him to be taken to the hospital instead of waiting for his scheduled doctor's appointment on Friday.

He was immediately taken in an ambulance to the hospital in a semi-conscious state before being warded for observation.

The news had reached me very early in the morning and was not the kind of news which anyone would love to listen as a day starter but I have to face reality that all humans would have to face the stark actuality of life.

He has been fighting his diabetic complications for years and I truly belief that he will be what he is, as a fighter, to do whatever he can to be around with love ones for many years more. He has proven this in 1985 when he was admitted in a semi-coma state also due to his diabetes problem.

Waiting for updated news of his condition from a location far away is something which is unpleasant and edgy. How can someone focus on working when that special someone whom had gave me a chance to live in this world is bed ridden in hospital and fighting for his life?

He is a father for he may be wrong with some actions within the family but he remained my paternal father whom had slog his guts out when he was younger to ensure there is food, clothing and shelter for the family. Memories of him kept flashing in my mind constantly for the whole day recognising the agony he had gone through as a sole breadwinner of the family.
