PKFZ in Parliament!

15th June 2009, the second session of the Malaysian Parliament seating starts and PKFZ is on every MPs lips. The "blame game" within the ruling coalition has started and so is the "cover-up" plans. This issue would be brought up and few MPs involved would be seating on a pit-fire in the House.

Opposition MPs would definitely "grill" the relevant Minister and the present ruling MPs will find out if their peers are supportive of their misadventure. Within the Government, they are aware that this is a high profile" scam" but would have to protect their integrity at all cost.

Had the Government then practice due diligence and professionalism during the awarding of this project, millions of public funds would have been saved and place for better use with the present economic recession is a good example.

PKFZ scandal have every element of CBT, corruption, cronyism, nepotism etc. built into it. Whatever the situation is, the Price Waterhouse Coopers investigation report has placed a damning effect on the integrity of the Government and MPs associated.

It does not contribute much to the efforts in redeeming of the fast fading public perception of BN after the last General Election. While BN is still licking their wounds, not much progress and development to turnaround the economic situation had Malaysians worry.

The inability to tackle the retrenchment and lack of job opportunities during these trying times had contributed much to the socio-economic problems of increasing crime rate all over the country. The stimulus package announced for the only ones to be triggered by the Government which have yet to see the impact on the road to economic recovery.

When the shortcomings of the ruling BN Government are being highlighted by the Opposition MPs, this caused red faces among the leaders which leads to them scurrying for cover where many would admit that the BN MPs are no match to their counterparts in terms of technicality and intellectual.

The road to economic good times looks bleak for now but with the quality of leaders in the Government, Malaysians would have made their mind if these bunch of Ministers can really pull Malaysia out of the economic doldrums affecting worldwide.

With the predicted dryand hazy season set to dry up the water and ground, it would certainly be another type of El Nino for the Government leaders when the Parliament seating starts next week.

Point to note: It is good to note that some of our Opposition MPs (not naming who) are highly respected in Parliament for their facts, principles and always looking out for statistics instead of some BN MPs who are perhaps more interested in securing contracts.
