Missing drugs from State Police Headquarters

RM1million worth of syabu which forms part of the RM48million drug bust of the year had gone missing from the state Johor Baru (South) police headquarters which was guarded by 60 policemen.

A task force had been set-up to probe into the missing drugs and police had called up several reporters from 3 NST Group dailies for questioning on the newspaper reports here, while the State Police Chief shuns the media.

2 other occassion that drugs in police custody gone missing.

If the police can't secure such in their own building, how would the public expect them to safeguard the safety of all Malaysians in the wake of rising crime?

The State Police Chief and IGP should hold themselves responsible for the loss as this is a breached of security and possibly reflects a weakness in implementation of controls over the evidence.

I recall a story from South Africa where it was so difficult to fight crime when the "baddies" attacked the police station that the police themselves hired security guards to secure the station perimeters. Would this happen in Malaysia?
