Che Det announces quiting of UMNO (Baru) and his close ally follow suit! The resignation fire was ignited by this person.
Few days ago, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin, 12th Parliament Dewan Speaker resigned from UMNO to remain impartial in Parliament seatings.
Anymore to follow to sufficiently derailed Abdulah's re-invention of UMNO after the 12th GE catastrophe? 300 Merbok branch members en-massed did and just watch for more .....
Last week, after being hit by the calls from political leaders of Sabah and Sarawak for more gentle care in handling East Malaysian states by the Federal Government, the "rumours" of defection to opposition camp now looks real. Will they do it in Parliament today (May 20, 2008)during the motion by DAP Leader Lim Kit Siang on longstanding Sabah illegal immigrant problem or later?
Implications of Che Det's resignation (his wife too) on UMNO goes both ways but many present UMNO members will share Musa Hitam's views that it was a "blessing" while Ahmad Zahid Hamidi claims Che Det is throwing a "big stone" on UMNO's glasshouse.
Ku Li feels the message Che Det wants to send to UMNO members which recently celebrated 21 years (not the 62 years of original UMNO) is to refrain from "ampu bodek" (apple polishing) but he will stay on in UMNO to fight Abdullah.
Whatever happens, everyone is watching if more "stones" would be thrown onto the broken UMNO glasshouse and further disintegrate Abdullah's plans (if he has any) to re-unite the party which has now gone into Category 3/4 typhoon. Meanwhile, Shahrir Samad warns of another general election here. Could this end up in another inedible ink controversy and further waste of public funds by this "flip-flop" Abdullah administration?
The Malaysian political scene pre and post election is now a "drama" worth watching and it just gets more exciting as September 16 approaches....
